"Jay z is the linkin park of hip hop, it’s no coincidence they have that mash up album"

According to interviews when Jay came in to the studio to work on reanimation Mike Shinoda was super starstruck and excited to work with him and Jay just did one single take for all his parts and immediately dipped which is such a Jay z move I have to assume it's true

lol based

Jay z's feature on donda remains the most entertainingly awful thing I've heard this decade not made by ashnikko and I could live with this not changing

“there just aren't that many fantastic songs on this double album”

yeah, this is the correct take imo. some great production, some great performances, but very few songs that I truly love

I just don’t see a 4.5 anywhere in here. Crazy how that’s like the dominant rating.

this album does seem like a grower and tbh i dont ever remember an album where that was basically the consensus (i.e. the averages both here and rym steadily increasing so soon after starting out kinda low, usually its kinda the opposite)

There is sososo much to pick apart that early ratings are sure to be cursed. I also think that binge-listening (which was necessary in order to churn out a timely review) is probably a poor way to consume this album.

Nevertheless, a simple revisit to peak Kendrick is enough to cement this as comparably weak
