fans said that Paul Marc wrote more than half of the songs (including lyrics). (source: discord)
Therefore don't blame Shane, but Shane can actually be blamed if he doesn't even write the lyrics.

When they actually go heavy, they pull it off. Even the wink at past Silverstein sounds (Cold Blood) is worth a listen.
Everything else is an embarrassment. "The Altar/Mary" had such promise until the idiotic trap/electro nonsense in the middle and then "Mary" itself. The ending song "Misery" might be one of the worst songs written recently.
Die Alone, the first minute of The Altar, and Bankrupt are the only cuts worth taking away from this.

“Our Song may be the worst thing I've ever heard”
This may be the karma I got for defending papa roach earlier. This damned song is a papa roach “rip-off” and I got depressed straight away.

you know most of the songs on the album were actually written by Paul Marc. Shane Told only wrote Die Alone and Misery independently. So the melodic and lyrical regression (decline) is not surprising at all. I even think it's already good that Paul Marc has made it like this. wth
edit: on the level of English usage, I don't know if I can use regression for decline

they had such a solid run the last album was pretty bad. Kinda dreading this. Bankrupt was SO mid

I saw these guys live last month and was bored out of my mind, won't check this shit
|

That’s surprising, they usually put on a great show

Silverstein's show should be great, audience response is huge, band delivery professional work. the only thing i think that would change is that shane's too heavy to bounce. (too fat indeed, if he cares about stage presence and the strength needed)
anyway track ranking of mine (may be inflated with an offset of 0.5), despite the tracks I hate, I still defend this one
1. Don't Wait Up (4/5 not the highest score, but it's my weakness)
2. The Altar (4.5/5)
3. Die Alone (4.5/5)
4. Misery (4/5)
5. Ultraviolet (3.5/5)
6. Slow Motion (3.5/5)
7. Cold Blood (3.5/5)
8. Bankrupt (2.5/5)
9. Live Like This (2.5/5)
10. Mary (1.5/5)
11. It's Over (1.5/5)
12. Our Song (1.5/5)
