damn first two songs were def the best, initial charm wore off. way too many shitty bounce riffs. kind of linkin parky in a bad way. not the worst thing ever but just eh.

just got me thinking of how good vxv was man. comparing the intricacy and thoughtfulness of something like the bird and the snake to the new one is tough. what an album.

That's probably the peak of that style of song for them (or Man of Sorrows), but I find they consistently have at least one of those for me to hang my hat on each record. I connect with them on more of a spiritual level, but Lowly, Blessings & Curses, and Embracing Accusation all get me.



Bird and Snake still stands apart though.

Father's Bargain was actually the first song I ever heard by them. Love that one too



For the new album Memento Mori has been the one I've returned to the most
