Deafheaven have one awful album and several mid ones but they're not seetheworthy by a long shot

Finally got back to listening to this and made it through Neptune. Still excellent. Unless this does a nosedive in the second half then this will be a 4.0-4.5.

Some growers on here, wasn’t really feeling Lament for Wasps, but now it’s starting to click on 3rd listen.

Yeah so I can comfortably say that this is one of the best metal albums I've heard this year (using the umbrella term metal loosely I guess), and as a first time Deafheaven listener I certainly bought into this album hook, like, and sinker. I'm sure I'm lacking context, but that's okay, I'm just going to bask in this for the time being.

Can someone explain the summary of the review? Have no idea what it's supposed to mean. Hope I'm not making a fool of myself.

Album is cool, will probably become a 3.5-4 for me.

Is kiiiinda metal but very shoegazy and I am a first time Deafheaven listener too, Sowing, loving it as well, I've listened to some old songs from the band but never a full album until this one.

everybody: deafheaven is not black metal its just edgi shoegaze

Deafheaven: *ditches most of their bm influences*

Everybody: Why would deafheaven do this? they were always about the bm.

Some of the songs are so fucking boring. Shellstar and Great Mass are the best two on here. Mombasa is overrated. In Blur and Villain just suck. Very Disappointed.
