This album is like a better version of TAitA IMO. Although that might be a wee bit biased since TAitA is my least favorite Thrice album by far.

I have Artist and this both rated a 5. I heard the Artist first actually, that's the album which got me into the band. Now I like them both for different reasons. Bottom line, if you like one you should definitely get the other.

just got this one, after listening to it two times I give it a 4.5 rating, but when I have time I will take a few more listens.
the guitar work is great, and the way they mix almost poppy parts into some of the songs is amazing.

If you're talking about the breakdown, I haven't really noticed any comparison, but there is a similarity in this album with Protest's guitar work. Obvi it's a lot less wanky here but you know what I'm sezzin.
To Awake and Avenge the Dead is probably one of the best Thrice songs ever made. 123. It's up there with For Miles with my favorite Thrice tracks.
