Some bands that stick to what they do best it usually works for them. Like Pro-Pain and even if I think they do have a bit of variety Rammstein. I guess like those bands if it works for Crowbar, why change it.

Self-titled up to this is just an insane run, goated band I fear

why do you fear? I guess if this band was actually goated then music may be in trouble, so I hear you(?)
Great as they are, we need more panache in our lives, a little more garnish, spice perhaps? to be truly over-the-top.

according to Google AI, "I fear" in modern Gen Z slang is a hyperbolic, often sarcastic, filler phrase used to express ironic apprehension, dramatic opinion, or to soften a bold statement, rather than actual terror. It frequently appears at the end of sentences (e.g., "she ate, I fear") to emphasize an observation with mock-politeness.
also no garnish required, monster riffs and soulful harmonised leads is all I needs

hmm did you specifically ask for gen z slang cos 'I fear' has been around for much longer and it has greatly exaggerated the mocking side of the term imo.
can you also ask AI to explain the fairly sudden overuse of the term 'goated'? lol
anyway, these guys are cool, but I'm beginning to think this album really does stand out amongst the(ir) pack. Odd Fellows Rest has the beastly Planets Collide but otherwise doesn't come close. The s/t is actually very solid, just doesn't hit the same heights. Broken Glass is decent but nothing more. I am hesitating on potentially digging deeper. I might just go back (once again) to listening to High On Fire lol

Check Life's Blood For The Downtrodden, the bass is so tasty, played by Pantera's Rex Brown.
