Seems like this is a bit more lively than their coma they’ve been in.

The new The Raging Nathans album - Waste My Heart, >>>>>>>>This.
If you want a punk group in their raw, enthusiastic, untarnished prime, check their latest album.

I need to listen to this again to digest it, but initial impressions are solid. Not gonna lie, though, I actually really enjoyed Wolves to be honest - it's definitely a different class than the Sufferer and the Witness, but I thought it held up. It was also just released at a poignant time in my life so it might have just struck the right nerves.
Also +1 to all The Black Market fans. Album slaps.

" McIlrath doesn't have to pen Shakespearean poetry to convey these topics, because they're so blunt and obvious to those experiencing such patience-testing trials of adulthood that it doesn't need to - nor should it be - wrapped up in a metaphorical bow."
gonna disagree with this bit in particular Sowing — McIlrath's lyrics feel so vague and aimless that they lose any bite in the process so it comes across like teen angst more than actual protest. You don't need poetry to make a protest, but you need something to actually be mad at.
Honestly the laziness in the lyrics more than undoes any good momentum they earned in the more-intense-than-usual instrumentals.

Would have thought with the clusterfuck that is America he would have enough inspiration for his lyrics. I mean he wasnt a master at it but the lyrics from their early records at least packed somewhat of a political punch.

This is already growing off me. Has some good songs but it's not very memorable. The new AFI is better than this for sure, I should reverse scores.

lol Sowing I was def thinking there is no way this album is better than Bodies. Bodies at the very least shows signs of an attempt at doing something interesting.
this is just more washed out Rise Against by the numbers (ha?). some decent tracks but why listen to this when it's been done far better before, yano?

“the Trump administration had a stranger-than-fiction feel to the extent that I can't think of any musical artist at all, satire or protest, who pulled an iconic work out of it off the top of my head. Any obvious exceptions?”
Yeah the singer in that shitty tool band has a good band that made a Trump album called Eat the Elephant. Can’t remember the name of either band. O-O

It's not bad, it's exactly the same thing as every other RA album since Sufferer.
