This definitely isn't the direction I wanted them to go in. I wanted more Ruby Pools type stuff. But having got over that initial disappointment I'm finding a lot to enjoy here. It's more direct and song-based than the album experience of Applause. It feels like a collection of singles but to their credit they are mostly very good singles. Still some nice tones and textures here. Feel like the bass is more prominent too.

When it was just the singles out I thought Straight Lines was the highlight, but 24 Light Years is song of the year material. Incredible stuff.
