yes, it's a Cowboy Bebop reference. one of the members is a DBZ fan (Masunaga Vapors being named after DBZ illustrator Keisuke Masunaga) so it's likely they like other anime too. there's also a Kamen Rider reference in Real Folk Blues which is an old Japanese tv show. and for an extra tidbit Big Shell is a Metal Gear Solid 2 reference.
