Enjoying this. I think the more laid back, atmospheric sound works for them.

Seems decent so far, about halfway through. I'm basically treating this as a different band given Mookie leaving and being replaced, especially since this sounds nothing like Board up the House

wasn't digging the more "serene" approach of the singles, but I respect the band enough to check out the whole thing from front to back.

Just want to take the opportunity to rec the album Melancholia Hymns by Arcane Roots. More metal/electronic goodness for those who've been put in that mood by Dream Weapon.

This is Stranger Things soundtrack with real drums on it. Very 2016.

Yeah this is chill. That’s the most apt descriptor I can think of. It’s neither offensive nor particularly impressive. It does enough to keep me interested for the most part, but rarely exits 3rd gear, if ever.

The most 6/10 album in existence. The quintessential ‘good’ album.

I mean the vibe could be a little denser/dirtier to fit my taste on that retro synth vibe, brought with those moods from that Drive movie f.e. lol

so...are the other records actually metal but with prog drums? I mean this is popping up on all metal channels etc

Yeah their previous stuff is 'cybergrind'. Would be much more to your taste I think. Way, way more metal than is present here.

mind, that it's not the fact this being more or less metal that made my rate. I just found it curious being featured through metal channels.

I could definitely see you digging Board Up the House, actually you’d probably like Dead Mountain/Cloak of Love too (which I’m less fond of, personally). And yes, don’t worry, some of it is proper heavy. Lol.

Yeah I get you. It's the metal history of the band that explains the attention from metal fans.

I understand finding this underwhelming. Nothing here is extraordinarily ambitious. But the sound and vibe just hits a sweet spot for me. I don't need it to veer beyond the comfort zone of that particular sound range.
