I think Rubber is actually my favourite but it’s a damn strong album. Jubilee top 3 for sure I’ll give ya that Sowing

Wish Hallelujah Anyway was a little bit longer. That last line was something else. But I also thought mid-morning apartment was one of the standouts. Only been through it once though

Yeah there are a couple duller tracks but mostly it’s a beaut.

Could not get on board with this, one of the dullest albums I've heard this year and the DIRT EMO vox was kinda grating (every other melody felt so derivative I expected him to break into Teenage Dirtbag or Video Killed The Radio Star). Would I dig Halloween more?

possibly, this does have more of a mainstream, soft-rock feel to it

you should check the closing tracks "Poison" and "Halloween" and that should give you a pretty good feel!

also I don't really get the "dirt emo" tag honestly. this is just your typical alt-country/soft-rock done really well

if you think this is a 2.5 then I doubt Halloween will work wonders for you, but it is considerably more memorable and poignant in my opinion

Will check those tracks from Halloween sometime then! And Brave was definitely a highlight, as was Jubilee. Some point after that the record started to bore me so much that I couldn't make it to the end without noodling on guitar over the top of the final tracks :'[ Key of D major ftw I guess...

D is one of my favourite keys too lol. But it wasn't enough to make this album interesting

Brave is nice and all, but it doesn't hold a candle to Under the Sun, Jubilee, Mid-Morning Lament, or Alive.

Exactly. Mid-Morning is def tops for me, wish there were a couple songs here that were a bit more drawn-out like that one.

I'll admit the music video made me love "Brave" even more. I just love the lyrics and imagery. I grew up on ninja turtles and power rangers, haha. that video was too real for me

Man, I can't tell if this melancholy enough for me to love, or poppy enough to eventually become monotonous. So far I like it though...
