Aside from the dodgy gapless playback, this album blew my socks off. Seriously tho, the absence of a proper gapless playback is really irksome. And yes, even the HDTracks 24bit version has this issue. Ah well, still an amazing record on all fronts.

Acquire the vinyl! Then your gaps only occur when you gotta flip.

So hyped for this, wild to see the response so far... they've been on a bit of an autopilot since Behind The Sun so am hoping this can return them to their golden age

The Tower is not a product of autopilot writing and execution. Crucible sounds like more Tower basically, to me at least. This LP is ever growing on me

If Here Be Monsters is a product of autopilot, then this is one of the greatest prog rock bands around

Here be monsters is my least favourite of their last eight albums or so but it rules nonetheless

@Dewinged, Well, yes maybe I undersold the hypothesis.. If HBM is on autopilot, then they're THE DEFINITIVE prog rock band EVER.

Lol well I spose that's my point, autopilot for Motorpsycho is still exceptional for most similar bands. What we saw up until Here Be Monsters was more of a continuous evolvement/boundary pushing than what's come after. Which is still good stuff don't get me wrong, but it's much more similar to what they've done before, as close to a 'formula' as they'll hopefully ever get

Sucks how slow the postal service moves this year. I hope I get this album by the end of the month.

I don't know if I still feel like this in a year, but at the moment it's their best since Trust Us for me (and I looooove some of the albums in between)

What a bloody band. They must be big in Norway or Europe in some pretty loyal circles, right?
