the bright spots on this album are fantastic. happens to be a fair amount of forgettable moments in between them, though. Definitely worth listening to and is destined for the occasional spin every now and then

Sick record: perfectly blends technicality with sophisitication. Felt the guitar work was especially amazing, though those frenetic bass lines and the sickeningly tasteful cymbal accents certainly deserve a shout. Also, great review as always Nocte.

honestly don't push it if it's not your thing. you're not gonna like every acclaimed album you listen to - some will warm and some won't. everyone has certain styles of music that don't appeal to them.
you'll never catch me listening to sludge metal unless it's a minor influence - i don't expect it to ever grow on me, but every year i'll take a crack at a sludge album or two just to ultimately come to the conclusion that, nope, it just doesn't appeal to me.
