I'm a republican. And I like George W. Bush. There. I said it. Now onto my comment about the review:

Better than you're first one. By way. You redeemed yourself. This album was 'meh' to me, I prefer their older stuff, much like most of these here people do. I can usually get past politically motivated lyrics, but lately, pro-bush or anti-bush, they annoy me.

EDIT: Yeaaa, I'm with Bron. Did I miss something? This Message Edited On 07.13.06

Im not a republican but I hate how people try to be rebel by being anti-Bush. It's not rebel when EVERYONE does it.

I think I'm having an aneurysm from all this...

Nice concept review btw, finally pushed myself to read some AI reviews.

I just deleted another page worth of comments. For the love of god, use your heads before you post something incredibly stupid.

Worst Green Day album ever. It sold well because it was anti-bush, a sort of fad at the time

Did you actually read the lyrics?

EDIT: Thanks SOP, you ruiner of situation comedy :P

They definitely lucked out though, giving them a back-on-top release by using one of the greatest fiascoes of our empirical history to their advantage. Lucky schmucks.

Aside, the album's relatively good, hit and miss depending on how long it has been since you last heard it. Example in that I just got back into it after about 6 months of purging. Yet, I still can't listen to American Idiot without switching over to Canadian Idiot. This Message Edited On 11.06.06

It's really not as political as it's made out to me. It's more social commentary, and BJA has been writing those sorts of lyrics for years anyway.

I'm not seeing it, really. Yes, references are made to the GOP, but when I read the lyrics, it was more of the usual snide social commentary I saw on Dookie and Insomniac.

I agree with Steerpike in that they've always been snide and sarcastic like this, just now people are noticing it because it has more of a focus on the current GOP.
