lol the first track is pretty much reason #1 why this album makes no sense. gotta listen to every track on repeat until they're individually under your skin, and then this sortof starts to flow

(also, this thread is now doubling as the Blurred in My Mirror thread: fuck me the opener is a masterpiece, how did I overlook this lol Bjork could never have pulled this off. Album is going up in my Tujiko ranking)

Judging this album on first track alone is dumb!

lol
"Shoegaze, dream pop, noise rock? Lol aaaigh"
haha I feel that this album in a different universe might have been a smart attempt to dissect shoegaze into all its ancestral components, but as it happened it was more of a "fuck it let's do whatever and sequence it for maximum disparity"

@johnny
Was planning on mentioning the opener haha, it’s incredible. That situation narrated in such a light tone. Bjork’s vocals are legendary and she has plenty of classic songs but I think Tujiko may be a bit more inventive musically

For real. I also love love love that she started out from total inexperience for the hell of it and has been living the zany artiste's dream ever since lol. I wanna be her

I m trying to follow you guys here...if that song is Niagara Hospital it completely sucks....

Album Rating: 4.0
Aha no no, we're talking about a Tujiko Noriko album that has absolutely zero to do with this; "Niagara Hospital" is about as far from the opener as you can get.
Think that song or "Vigilantes del Espejo" is my least fave here, but they pull the post-punk/noise schtick off fairly respectably

Niagara Hospital is the opener from Blurred in my Mirror right? Why am I listening to it?
And yeah, the opener here sucks too X(
For me at least ahah

Heh, yeah it's a bit less of a lurch once the initial shock has passed ;]
If that was your first Tujiko experience, I'd v much recommend listening to "Zipper" as a follow-up - probably the best one-song summary of her vibe and appeal (much more than anything on Blurred in My Mirror imo). it's also conveniently gorgeous
