Agreed, kind of like their main export, maybe even since their inception. But definitely closer to conglomo-major label tactics these days than they ever were.
Which is why I'm surprised I dig this as much as I did. Maybe at heart, I truly am a cowfeller.

really fantastic review. album had some stunning tracks (namely the opening 3 and the closer) but overall left me a bit wanting. would love to see him lean more into a shoegaze / post-punk style in his next record, without losing any of the stylistic country elements
