I always felt like Mark Hoppus was best suited as a back up vocalist, this release didn't help change my mind. I will continue to ignore this band.

Hoppus was a great lead vocalist in +44, but agreed, I prefer him as back-up in blink.

yeah because he has no range and sounds out of breath whenever he tries to push his register in comparison to matt

Yeah, but sadly it would’ve been nothing but a filler track if it was a TOYP or self titled cut...

^That's a startling but true revelation. Damn.

imagine if the self-titled was actually blinks last album and they just left out on top.
|
| |
it's easy to imagine because for at least 7 sweet years, it was the reality!
|
| |
to be honest though i don't particularly find that to be a satisfying ending because that album in particular sounds (& sounded at the time) like such an exhilarating new beginning. given the way things actually went down though, i feel like Neighborhoods was at least a nice little epilogue

Gut reactions right now:
- Much better than California
- Mark Hoppus is not a good lead singer
- Blame it on my Youth is still garbage
I’ll still need a few listens to fully process it though. Gets a 3.5 rating for now. Darkside and Black Rain are probably my fave tracks on here

how can the worst genre have alkaline trio in it
|
| |
even the genres supposedly best material like early blink and alkaline trio sound painfully generic.

I still think Pin the Grenade through Emo Shit is a really great run of songs. I get pumped every time Ransom plays
