He gave Time Will Die And Love Will Bury It a 2 so I'd have to argue that it's his hearing that needs to be checked.

Can you speak up please, the old ears are havin' some trouble

Seriously though. If you want a a 'hot garbage' example, just take a stroll over to the new Northlane album.

A 1? Not close.

this average is deserved, although the i still couldn't believe this was at a 4.4/4.5 for a few days. kinda ridiculous, but it's good to see that people universally believe that this doesn't suck at the least, because this is probably the best deathcore album of the last 5 years or so, and maybe even of the decade.

Actually a fair call considering. Even with my rating where it is.

also yeah, i can't really understand an argument for rating this under a 2, but there are a lot of elements here that understandably could turn people away from it

the only other deathcore bands that i've really enjoyed in this decade have been Thy Art (although they're quite inconsistent with their albums) and Fit For An Autopsy, but even then neither of them have tried anything as ambitious as this album and Reclaimer. speaking of Reclaimer, i'm honestly glad these guys dropped the Halo gimmick because it really pigeonholed them into a weird territory

"because it really pigeonholed them into a weird territory"

i mean yeah, but did it really? making a vague concept around space/alien core isn't really the most uncommon thing in the scene

but this shift in sound was 100% beneficial agreed
