It's mystery enough to me how anyone could genuinely listen to a track like 'Broccoli' with a straight face.

@Sharenge, for me Geogaddi is an album associated with darkness, not necessarily in the psychological sense, but rather as a late night jam, when everything's quiet and I'm left with my own thoughts. And my thoughts make it spooky too.

It should be fairly obvious where the associations with darkness regarding BoC are coming from. Their characteristically distorted analogue synthscapes basically juxtapose romanticized life memories with a sort of unnerving sense of oblivion and age-related decay, not to mention the choice of samples. It works quite psychologically for sure.

I should maybe check this again because it wasn't my fave iteration of Coil's sound (of the material I have checked, which is fairly limited in fact)
