It's well worth getting on vinyl, really accentuates the negative space, renders the music transfixing and vital etc., good way to approach it! I also listen to this a lot more now I have the physical copy, although it's certainly not an everyday thing

I can only imagine how good this sounds on vinyl. It is definitely up there in my wishlist. Sadly, I live in a country in which having access to this kind of gems is either impossible or expensive as fuck.

Thank you for the reminder that I need to snag a vinyl copy when I get my bonus, long overdue for another session with this but it’ll wait until I’ve got the wax

I was briefly perusing my (sort of in)accurate last.fm rankings for the last year and this was my most listened to album

was kind of shocked

One of the most genuinely overlooked, underrated, underestimated albums in existence.

A masterpiece

Weird how it’s just floated on by regardless.

Talk Talk had that reinvigorated period around ten years ago when people discovered their genius, then Hollis died and this was looked at but it’s not nearly as revered as it should be.

Plus on a side note this geezer grew up about 5 miles from me which I never knew until recently.

I listened to David Sylvian t'other day and certain elements were reminiscent of Hollis. The theoretical ingredients of serene minimalist spacing and subtle beauty were somewhat present, but something was missing

(just made me wanna divert to this instead, even if a few aspects differ)

I can see why even though I remain unconvinced. The album I'm listening to ('Secrets') doesn't have the magic, not even close. The arrangements / influences here lend themselves to that ethereal quality and Hollis's voice is on another plane entirely
