Not a criticism but had to jump the first 2 paragraphs to actually get into the review (those were not for me :p) but besides that good review
Listening to it right now, the "neo-jazz vibes" make it specially cool and engaging, will definitely give this a few listens

Haha no worries Asura, fair critic. I knew when I was writing it that it wasn't gonna be for everyone.
Glad you enjoy the album.

This is cool. But nothing is as outstanding as the first track and it's a bit samey.

First track is so fucking good that it's hard to say any other song can shadow it, agree on that Ed. Still, In The Garden, Fading, Something to Talk About are great tracks too, but they take more time to sink in.

yeah the opener is the clear standout but Look At Each Other and It's Late are jams on their own right. But the real winner here is the atmosphere -- I haven't gotten this immersed in an electronic record since I first heard Jon Hopkins. This is gonna grow on me, I can feel it.

The trip hop elements on this really need to come to the forefront because they are always the most interesting elements but they are also very sparse. Not digging this as much as I had hoped. I feel like they could tap into something great but they just dont have the character yet. A lot of blandness that the more striking nuances cant save. Could be lumped in with the likes of the xx often.

It's nice. That's about it

None of the songs go anywhere is the biggest frustration. They just mope along the same dreary plane one after another for a few minutes and then end. Untapped potential to the max
|
| |
I want to be nice and give this a 3 at least but there honestly isnt a single song that I feel compelled to ever revisit

Aww Pots, I was almost sure you'd dig this.
I get where you come from though; you are probably harder to impress than me when it comes to electronic music.
It's a debut though, a pretty good one imo, but yeah I have high hopes of seeing what they can do in the future.

Me too, I think they have all the right ingredients for something great but it just fell short here
A bit off-topic but I really love all the artwork for their singles

Yeah man, one thing that dragged me to listen to them was the red light/dark room kind of aesthetic.

So why is the cover a rip off of Jane Doe?
|
| |
Yeah sax vibes were intriguing initially but I tried to rejam this today and was like "nah" halfway through the second track. Also wished they leaned into the trip hop a bit.

"So why is the cover a rip off of Jane Doe?"
lol c'mon man
|
| |
Also wish there was more trip-hop/more prevalent drums tbh. Purely a subjective thing tho

Haha that's what I thought. Even if it was by accident, a good jam is a good jam anyways.
