not sure if those vocals are working here...or if its the type of metalic mix (polyphia like) on the guitars that don't fit the vocals, but it still refreshing stuff. Dug most of the tracks though. I'll check this again tomorrow.

Torche have their moments but get a bit samey with too much listening. Harmonicraft and Songs For Singles are my favorite stuff from them.

Just another gentle reminder to myself to get this.

"Anybody listened to their other stuff?"
Yeah! And it's even weirder than this. King Radio is pretty great, but the production is a little lo-fi.

Cyborg is the best track here imo.

I finally got back on their bandcamp, threw caution to the wind, and just got all of it.
The EP is even weirder, I think, maybe the strangest of all of it. I am not sure if it was actually worth getting yet, but it was a name your price, so I ain't mad.

Yeah for some reason the EPs production strikes me as much better than King Radio's. It's a weird and beautiful little beast.

As someone that really digs VOLA this feels kinda feels like a rip off of that style and not as interesting as VOLA IMO. (I'm not saying that it's a rip off, it just sounds that way cause I heard VOLA first)
But I will give it a few more listens and maybe their next album steps out a little more

Hmmm I can understand the VOLA comparison to an extent, but this sounds nothing like VOLA tbh.

I have zero clue what this dude is talking about personally.

I don't really hear it either. That is coming from someone who wasn't super big on VOLA's latest and really enjoys this and heard VOLA first as well.

This is has nothing to do with Vola me thinks.

There are similar aesthetic qualities methinks. You know, use of ambient synths, unusual vocals. I actually think I got turned onto one on a thread of the other. But calling one a ripoff of the other is like calling Intronaut a ripoff of Mastodon.

It's more like calling Mastodon a rip off of a jukebox.

Gonna bump this to a good ol' 4.5
Lovin it.

I am also really happy someone put Tears for Fears in the similar bands section.
