Wow, only one band can ever say that! Amazing!

Getting major vibes from classic 90's Swedish bm (Sacramentum, Unanimated) on the longer tracks. A surprising first contact with this band, rules

Sacramentum vibes can only be a good thing, not sure I hear that myself mind.
|

They kinda got the Boss Metal Zone guitar tone yeah

I don’t know that is but it sounds awesome.

Basically anything that came out of Sweden from the late 1989 to late 90's were using that signature guitar tone often referred to as the "Buzzsaw" tone produced by the Boss HM-2 pedal.
Listening to records from Entombed, Sacramentum, Edge of Sanity, Necrophobic, Unanimated, Dismember and even early Katatonia (Dance of December Souls and BMD), they all had this particular guitar tone

Nice info, didn't realise 'Boss' referred to a particular brand of pedal. I love the Entombed, Sacaramentum, Necrophobic & Dismember etc. guitar tone so I'm going to say it's definitely a good thing.
Coincidentally downloaded some Unanimated the other day as well.

You’ll dig Unanimated for sure.

Yeah I mean if you dig Dissection your in for a treat. I know that they released an EP like last week and are about to release a full length this year.
Also, if you like the whole swedish melodic bm/dm sound, I really recommend Uada. It's basically a modern reinterpretation of this whole scene with an American West Coast flair with a guy that has the range of Attila Csihar on vox

Uada look interesting, thanks. I'm struggling to get around to all these releases but I'll put it on them on 'the list'.

Unanimated is so good. Also don't forget the band Desultory. Their Into Eternity album is one of the best melodeaths I've ever heard
|
| |
Desultory's Into Eternity is indeed an excellent album.
Through Aching Aeons was also remarkable if I recall correctly. Need to jam it again.

Catchy yet not too slick, that's a nice combo! Definitely like this!

Very smart and interesting release. Would be nice to have them state the influences that went into this album.

Yeah this is the whole package, immediately catchy but there's no shortage of atmosphere or compositional depth. The longer tracks have a lot to offer, yet there's always a 'banger' when you need one, in fact the opening track satisfies both those needs simultaneously.

Agreed with Demon. The longer tracks are really strong composition wise and are def my highlights. I'm new to this band, are the other albums styllistically similar ? What album should I jam next?

never listened to these guys, fen to shadows was solid, will check
|

@lalchimiste The Apothic Gloom EP bears a few similarities with this album (particularly the shorter tracks) and is the band's first material with Adam Clemans as vocalist.
Their previous stuff is different from this album though, not sure if you'll dig it. If you want something more thrash, clean sound, shorter songs/albums, flashy lead guitars and with melodic elements I'd say go for Serpents Unleashed and Beyond the Permafrost.

I’ve been jamming Permafrost & although it doesn’t seem to strike a chord with me like this does, its still an enjoyable album.
