The sput “metal” staff are getting lazy...
Besides not being true, that's not why this was featured. Is a solid user write up for an album no staff was assigned to.

You misunderstood, it's a well-deserved feature.
The staff squad is missing too many new releases...it’s just a constructive criticism, I love the sput team.

This is definitely their best album.

@CaliggyJack Tough call honestly, I'd say this is one of my favorite metal albums of this year though. How would you rank their discography man?
I was kinda surprised that no one dared to review this album before, even when it started to appear on the trending chart. Also the overall average is still a 4/5. Not sure how these guys are seen on this site, but I don't think they're quite as regarded and celebrated as Vektor, Power Trip or idk Warbringer???
Nice to see Skeletonwitch getting lots of recognition on this site =)

I'll just post my rankings
At One With the Shadows-4
Beyond the Permafrost-3.5
Breathing the Fire-3
Forever Abomination-3
Serpents Unleashed-3.5
Devouring Radiant Light-4.5

At One With the Shadows is really overlooked, mostly because it's out of print haha, but I wouldn't rate it that high. It has its flaws, and three of the songs were re-recorded later for Beyond the Permafrost, but is endearing and fun enough to still be an enjoyable and solid album imo.
Plus the raw sound and the 'demo quality' production gives the impression that the album could've been released in the 80s (I know this is a cliché when you talk about any modern thrash album, but that's how it sounds to me).
Anyway nice to see you're digging this album mate.

i was skeptical at first from the singles but this is actually pretty fucking dope
Carnarium Eternal is super good on here and their best 'succinct' track

Great review dude, pos'd! This album might be my biggest surprise of 2018. This is their best album for sure, and I really dug Beyond the Permafrost and Serpents Unleashed. The Vault is such a massive jam m/ The improved songwriting on this is definitely what helps make it

Thanks DungeonBoy, I appreciate it.
I'll try to keep up with new releases and listen to more stuff these days, but I doubt I'll find something that'll get me as pumped and excited as this album. Temple of the Sun and the title track rule hard.

Excellent review...
I didn't know what to make of this album at first, I liked their previous records but I'd listen to them while driving, like Kvelertak or like any 90's pop punk record... But this is different... this is deep, atmospheric... Def top 5 metal albums of this year....

Wow I was not very impressed with their previous material, but I'm on track 2 now and this is awesome so far

It is THAT good boiiiis.
Let's see if the new Revocation can top this, also Sodom are supposed to release a teaser EP in October (just like they did with Sacred Warpath in 2014). Color me enthusiastic :]
