First Born was just... really fucking repetitive and samey when I tried it.
I relistened to Deceiver and still prefer the last two albums slightly but I liked it more the second time around.

Going back and listening to the TWA discog in reverse beause I was a huge backer of them in 2011.
Remembered listening to this album and couldn't even get through half of it on the first listen, it was so borrringgggg
I think this record really suffers from stick to a mid-pace for most of the album. There's no crunchy breakdowns or exhilarating riffs or technical paces. Just boring standard hard rock.
Also Telle's vox fucking blow on this record. They are just bland and the melodies are barely there. His screams are okay.

Tele has phoned it in ever since REAL

I think there was a big drop in quality from Dark Matter to this. I don't even know what they were going for on this, I can't imagine any fans of That's The Spirit getting into this

Telle used to be one of my favorite vocalists, but he hasn't been that great since Real

This was essentially Dark Matter lite with a couple of weird extra things thrown in. I liked it, but it's more fun for spinning certain individual songs rather than listening through the whole album

Ehh Dark Matter had stronger singles & a certain moodyness. This just feels like a mess.
The Danny Worsnop feature is cool but 6 years late to a better song on Life Cycles

I was hyped because I loved the second single, "Why Am I Like This?" and the rest delivered fairly alright.

And with the vocals on the bridge of Why Am I Like This I still can't tell if they're an uncredited Keaton Pierce feature or not.

Yeah, Dark Matter did have a certain moodyness about it, and it was certainly more consistent. It's actually probably my favorite TWA album, Deceiver being the very close second

band needs to stop. this isn't even their worst, but it's just so god damn lifeless. i hate that they are all talented and this is the basic shit they come up with.
how do telle's lyrics keep getting worse lmao. his screams were sick but they don't save the mediocrity of the song

Telle is such a fucking clown these days. Always getting butthurt about people not liking the new sound.

holy fuck the new song is terrible. instrumentally sucks too. i hate them saving the screams for the bridge. like it doesn't even matter how he sounds, it's so predictable that it's bad.
also Misery is their most listened to song on Spotify, i had no idea that song was THAT big for them. it's getting a sequel too? i fucking hate these guys now lmao

it amazes me how many die hard fans they've amassed by simplifying their sound

these actually shitty songs are making me realize that Real's worst (minus Lighthouse cuz Lighthouse is cringe) isn't even close to as bad as I once thought.
