Saved the best for last with that one and Wake. Otherwise pretty solid as one would expect.

This is Waffle House to my ears.

Still hope it grows on me. Will jam again in the office tomorrow. Slightly underwhelmed.

i think this is my favourite ihsahn record

For me that would be After or Arktis. They have something special which is missing here for me. But maybe I'll find it some day. What do you so particularly like about it, Noctus?

i adore the vocals, the use of synths and production on this. it's so consistent and out of nowhere i find individual tracks grabbing me in ways i just don't expect. it's ambitious but in quite a reserved and subtle way so every listen feels more rewarding.

Nice man! I hope it'll click with me too. Trying again in a bit. He's the man.

i hope so too! if not though, it's all good, there's a lot ihsahn has done to appreciate.

Yeah, like his appearance on Radical Cut by Arcturus or in Ulver's A Song Of Liberty. Such a great musician.
|

I fucking love radical cut. That last scream of his is so fucking good.
|
| |
Yeah man. Me too! Love his style.
I think my main problem with this is the production. They've blown that I think.

Really I didn't notice any bad or particularly outstanding about the production. It's totally fine for my taste.
|
| |
For me it's too bass-heavy and the guitars have lost some of their weight, they have become indistinguishable from the synth in some places. That's a pity since Ihsahn excells in that area too.

Songs are good though. Bumped up .5

Yep, upon revisiting I'm feeling this more and more. Nice work. This guy keeps being amazing.
