nah, Sputnik's on point. This is a dreadful crawl up a hill in hellish temperatures and a severe heart condition. Just a countdown to your eventual death.

Lol - it definitely is a lethargic album, but I always give YLT the benefit of the doubt. This is a gorgeous, if not overlong, album

if this is a riot, then your mute-deaf grandma in a wheelchair is the instigator

It's no doubt their sleepiest original LP, Summer Sun, included - and I can't promise incessant repeat listens. But, as a person who appreciates soundscapes and atmosphere, I'm diggin. Can't argue that I wouldn't mind a few more upbeaters to liven her. (disclaimer - 4.0 rating is reactionary to overall 3.0 rating)

@juiceviaorange I will say that I do think this is a very pretty record, but I don't think it's enough for a positive score from me

Very fair, Sandwich. I love them so much so undoubtedly some biased angle is being put out by me

Is this any good? I saw it in a record store today and thought about getting it but ultimately decided to pass because I heard mixed things.

It's a great sleepy indie rock record, nothing more or less, really. I'd be hard pressed to get a physical copy though

yea, if I was spending money, i'd get one of their classics instead..

Good to know. I'll stream it on Spotify or something though because I do love me some sleepy indie rock

There are several great tracks spread across this, and For You Too is an amazing, near-classic tune, but the overall package meanders waaaaaaay too much for me; it's less than the sum of its parts. Cut it down to 40 minutes and we might have something more worthwhile...

Never listened to the band though, and apparently they have multiple classics. Where to start?

Currently the only other one I've heard from them is Painful (changing that soon though) but that's a beaut so trying that couldn't hurt
|

Cool. Maybe I'll just sample a little from each album and go from there.

Sow, I can throw you together a playlist of their very best.. but really from Painful until Nothing Turned Itself, you can't go wrong..
