New singer is shockingly good. They sound amazing live too recently on the clips I’ve seen. Warrel would be proud I think. RIP.

I know, it blew my mind. The band instrumentally sounded sick too. Way better band revival than we generally see.

Yeah there’s vids on YouTube of the Istanbul show and they’re touring Europe now.
apparently they haven’t announced any US dates yet cause they’re having a hard time getting a work visa for the singer.

sputnik is too philistine to appreciate this band

I'm a devout follower of Christ but still appreciate great metal. The philistines sucked even to Christians because they were highly legalistic and had no spiritual substance to them. So maybe the analogy still works. Either way, Nevermore are among the GOATs - that we can definitely agree on.

This is basically if Disturbed was a prog-metal band and took influence from Dream Theater instead of Nu-metal.
The intro track is what you expect from a proto-disturbed kind of band, spooky and cringy poetry spoken over spooky ambient noises, which kind of reflects what the music is about and the direction they wanted to go in, cheesy but dark. However, they fail miserably with vocals that are very annoying as they remind me a lot of David Draiman with these raspy and grating high notes, overly cheesy "epicness" and just overall vocalizations combined with some of the dullest instrumentation I've ever heard from a Prog-Metal album, creates for a not fun experience.
In conclusion, if you love disturbed and dream theater, you'll love this album.

I don't like either of those and love this album. Also was probably jamming this before I even signed up for sput

Coaxed into a snafu by being on my phone while working and not reading the whole thing.
Was politic's opening track any good? It might have taken them until the EP after this to make an opening track that wasn't overshadowed by everything else lol
