I hate how people lable Mastodon that way, more than half of their career is/was not commercially appealing. Dvne is one LP band so far. And they re great...but few of us know them. Also the reasons why bands get more known are not all commercially...its because it moves people and I have serious doubts that was cause its sellable...sludge and early Mastodon are still hard to get into to common listener.

Me too. Cant stand Mastodon these days (and for a while) but Crack the skye and previous is TOP TIER.

And by the way, the only Mastodon record that isn’t really accessible is Remission. Leviathan and onwards are relatively mainstream metal albums. And I’m not nocking the band for that. I think they’re pretty good records. Just pointing out the facts
