Haha Misery Signals? People were losing their fucking minds for them but stupidly I didn't do much research and didn't realize they weren't a constantly-touring band. Then I went on Spotify last night and listening to more of their tracks and realized I really fucked up by falling asleep before they went on stage : (

yeah I'm surprised that video didn't sound like shit though, so many recordings of live shows, especially smaller ones, never do it justice and can often make it sound worst than it was. They were so great! Such nice people. Seriously they saw me buy a shirt and their guitar player paused his conversation to reach over and thank me, and then as I was folding the shirts elsewhere to give to coat check, Courtney and the rest tapped me and all thanked me as they passed. Never had another band come close to showing that level of appreciation for buying merch. So down to earth. God they're great. I just want a full-length LP so fucking badly now.
Where do you live? That drive might have been worth it. The show sold right out, and when that venue sells out, the whole floor bounces up and down and I love it.

that's awesome man, if that happened to me I probably would have asked them to be my friends, started crying and shit myself.

Checking this now. Female vocals, I think I'm gonna like this. But I don't want to promise anything lol
Edit: The Mara Effect 3 gets very tesseract-y at times, nice. It's fortunetly not too much of that stuff. Actually this is better than anthing Tesseract have ever done imo. Very promising, seems like I'm going to lose some money to these guys.

Hell yeah! No problem man, I forget which thread now I recommended these guys in but I'm glad you like them.
I personally found this to be musically way more passionate and interesting than the last two Tesseract albums. It's got the Tesseract tone and moments when necessary, but never delves into the long-winded wankery or cheese that they sometimes dip their toes into. Sooooo solid. Very confidently made songs. They've got 4 more songs for a new EP on Spotify but I imagine you've heard those too by now.

Just out of curiosity: what moments in Tesseract songs would you call 'cheesy'? I sometimes think I'm not getting the whole concept of cheesiness

Oh that's pretty subjective, but for me they vary. Sometimes they use a certain opening guitar riff, or sound effect, or even just a vocal melody Dan is delivering where I think it seems a bit indulgent and could be tighter. Or most of the track Smile lol. And I think Dystopia and Survival in particular too give me those moments. King too, the chorus. It's really just random bits and usually the lyrics at those moments as well.

Just one more song and the second EP will be complete, can't wait to jam it in full. I've been laying off the new songs so I don't overplay them before we get the last one.

What's your fave song Ash? Mine used to be The Beauty Of Suffering (here's an incredible live vocal video if you missed it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pR9YdkesspQ) but Electric Cross may have topped it. Song is fucking insane, video is great too.

DUDE. Not sure if you're into IWABO but either way you are in for a fucking treat my friend. Spiritbox is absolutely my favourite 'new' band. Also sweet avatar, that's an amazing album.

"late for nothing" has been on the backlog for quite a while, should i just skip to the latest? also thank you!! sargent house have been killing it this year between brutus and now helms alee.

I guess it depends, personally I wouldn't skip Late For Nothing, but on the other hand you can just jump into Spiritbox without checking all the IWABO stuff, especially since they only have the 2 EPs. And yeah, new Helms Alee is killer but that was expected.

I'm dying for the final song 'Bleach Bath'. But they only printed 250 CDs, and people should have gotten them 2 days ago. So I'm literally getting carpal tunnel from refreshing, looking for it. Either there was an unexpected delay with the shipping, or the 250 souls lucky enough to get to pre-order the EP are hogging the goods. =(

The new one should have come out almost 2 weeks ago, what's gone wrong? The band is not very active on social media, so frustrating...
