Yeah even though all the songs on No Line are good, I feel like the structure could've been different from the three upbeat rock songs in the middle sandwiched between the more different and ambitious songs at the beginning and end.

idk even the songs i like off of innocence dont have any staying power for me
when i was like 12 atomic bomb and no line were jammed like twice a day at least for me for a few months. def have some personal attachment to a lot of the songs off them, even tho not all of them have held up at all

I think my favorite 00s U2 are ... Leave Behind and No Line. If Atomic Bomb replaced its weaker songs with some of the b-sides it'd improve a lot, and same with ...Leave Behind actually.

leave behind is good but its weaker cuts (which is really the entire back half besides New York and when i look at the world) doesn’t grab me much at all. kite is incredible tho

Nice review! I see some of your points, but my own thoughts on the album are a lot more positive. I think it's the band's best material in almost 25 years (I'm not high on anything since Zooropa). You may have inspired me to write my own review here.

hot take coming up but my fave U2 is still ATYCLB, period. So much nostalgia in that record for me and it holds up remarkably well. Every cheesy song Bono's written since only wishes it could be half as good as stuff like Wild Honey, and that's probably the weakest one on there

he's okay. better than he was a couple years ago. but yeah, i'd say 2011 was the last year his voice was even comparable to its prime. his voice now is so shot that the band has to lower the keys of their songs live just so he can sing well. imo, his voice has gone downhill since 1990
