Sad the thread for this album is dead. Truly some top Trophy Scars songs beefing this up

Just about every song here is top-tier. Wish I could get into their newer stuff but it's never hooked its claws into me.

Just heard this band for the first time two weeks ago. I’ve been smitten with them since. This so far is the only album I can really get in. The newer stuff is so blues-y and not even punk or post hardcore.
The vocalist’s voice is not like man others. That creepy almost spoken word delivery works so well. The rap verses on here sound so good and are nostalgic inducing. The only comparison I have is the singer from The Number Twelve Looks Like You. I actually thought they were the same singer initially. Highly recommend Wild Gods by them even though sonically that band is nothing like this one. Just the vocalists have a similar delivery.

Loved reading that comment. Their newer stuff is (perhaps) easier to get into if you start with the Darkness Oh Hell Ep and the Never Born, Never Dead EP. Also their 2014 album Holy Vacants was highly well recieved. Also in 2020 they remade the song Artist.Artists from this album and the new version is incredible.

Goodnight, Alchemy is probably my favorite release of theirs but Hospital Music through Bad Luck are all pretty much perfect in my eyes. Darkness, Oh Hell kind of feels like a middle ground transition between the older sound and the newer stuff. Even if their newer releases aren't quite my thing, it's a testament to how talented these dudes are in making such a huge change in their sound and getting critical acclaim for it.

GUYS, 2026 remaster for the 20th anniversary is now available on Bandcamp with info on a new album? coming soon!! So ecstatic this got a remaster, because their next album is when the production shifted going forward, so it’s cool to hear this record in a new light away from a product of the “volume wars”. Truly astonishing post-hardcore record and probably one of the finest “break-up” records to boot. Hard to imagine I’ve been listening to this album and this band for twenty years now. Easily one of the most formative bands for me and I’m so excited for new music!!

Oh fuck yeah. Had no clue they were doing anything for this album but it deserves it tremendously. This album got me through a brutal breakup and didn't leave my car's 6 disc player for like 2 years. I've always loved how the heartbreak from this continues into Bad Luck and I remember being crushed the first time I heard Bad Dreams.

I think arguably the best thing about this era isn't necessarily the lyrics but the way Jerry delivers the lines. Reading the lyrics on their own might make them seem immature but Jerry screams, mutters, and whispers specific words and lines in such emotional ways that they hit hard as fuck. I will forever glaze the boys and it's kind of unbelievable it's been 14 years since I drove up to Hoboken, NJ to see them play this album in its entirety at Maxwell's. 20 years since this dropped makes me feel old.
