Songs For No One is my SOTY for 2017 I think. Going to see them in 2 weeks. Curious if they are as good live as they are on record.

They were very, very good live btw. Tight af, vocals were the same as the record, but the vocalist was so into the music that I've started to think that he's the one writing the music.

@Scheumke - Jim Grey (singer) and Sam Vallen (lead guitar) write the music and lyrics together. From what I've read, they both have about equal input to the compositions.

Yeah the opening of this album could've been a Plini song indeed. Don't know about the rest of the music though.

I'd say the similarities between C. Horse and Plini end with the guitar tone. Their compositions are quite different in most respects.

it's both modern prog, and honestly the two bands are really similar. Especially since they both utilize the djenty tones and jazzy chords

I gotta be honest... I don't hear it. If you don't mind picking out a few similarities between specific songs, I'd be happy to reconsider.

I noticed it immediatly when I got into Plini haha. They focus on quite different aspects though

I can't get into it and I've tried. Like I can't find anything that pulls me in. It's not bad either but it fails to make a mark on me. Idk how to rate it because of that so I'll leave it empty

They didn't really click with me at first either, but that changed. Probably one of my favorite bands right now.

I like it. I'm digging the black-metalish guitar tremolo. The vocals are pushed to the front pretty strongly, though. Could be my headphones. Regardless, I'm looking forward to this release.

New track sounds like more in the same vein as this tbh, which you can see by my rating, I have no troubles with whatsoever.
