Im assuming that’s Ship of Fools at 1 and The Maypole on the bottom but this album is so awesome I would not fault you or be surprised if it was the opposite. Stardust and The Maypole are so slick and gorgeous.

Gotcha, dude. To me, album is so heavy, both Stardust and the Maypole seem out of place. Also, they don't do much to me. Very ordinary ditties. Album is awesome, I agree!

Where are you at with your Yes and King Crimson appreciation? Those tracks harken back to that classic stuff a little more than the others which are more rooted in Motorpsycho’s signature (what you referred to as heavy, I think).

Those tracks are closer to Yes and King Crimson of course, if it's what you mean (English is not my mother tongue). My point is that composition wise, both songs are not too deep. If they were well crafted, they would be welcome on here to me. Every Motorpsycho albums have cool little ditties among their hard rock nature, after all.

Band is good at both hard rock and pastoral ones, in general, and it's all of their honour.

I know what you mean. They do such a great job drawing on classic influences while mixing in their own style. Their evolution as a band over the years has been fascinating and I can’t wait to dig further back in their discography. Cheers dude.

Been revisiting this one. Greatest rock band of the 90s onwards

This is top tier Motorpsycho, Ship of Fools is just the best. I love how it builds around that one guitar line, changes it up, then drops it back in. They released the tracklist for their next record the other day and its just four tunes, so probably some tasty epics one after another, can't wait.

yep Stickman Records' page for Ancient Astronauts says: "Blistering prog rock, experimental soundscapes, heavy rock grooves and epic buildups"

Gave this another spin this weekend while cleaning the garage, still one of their best. Ship of Fools is a top 10 for them

Yeah this is phenomenal

They released a new album last night, more mellow but the track with "hotel" in the title would fit perfectly on this album

A Pacific Sonata is so good man, the clean guitar solo is one of Snah's most pleasant ever. And then the second half is pure repetitive bliss

Yeah this album can do no wrong. I think the track that stands out the least for me is ASFE, which even on its own is a great tune, just nowhere near the heights of the rest of the album for me
