Which one is your favorite?

I love bass
It's my fave instrument in the basic rock set up
Bass > drums > vocals > guitar > keys
probably
|

Eh, my favorite instrument in general is the guitar.

My favorite is probably either bass guitar or cello
I feel weird saying cello though because I can barely get into classical but I love whenever a rock or pop song incorporates it, plus that one Bach piece that's famous is neat
I'd ask if cello rock was a thing, but If it is, I assume it'll just be a dissapointing gimmick, like "oh look watch people play Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson, but on cello!" meh...

Ars, you want some cello recs?

I'm not sure
I played cello from 5th-12th grade though, so sure, but like maybe try to go the route of baroque pop with it if you can?
|

The cello suite in G major? Yeah, it's pretty cool. In classical I prefer the voice and keyboard instruments in general, I'm not the biggest classical guitar fan tbh.

It's not that I hate classical, in fact I usually like it when someone else puts it on (usually Romantic period stuff like Chopin, Brahms, later Paganini,) it's just I know for a fact I'll never check it out out of my own volition
The fact that each piece has over 30 valid renditions where no one is objectively more correct to have than the others is overwhelming as fuck too
|
| |
It's not as hard as it looks to find a good version... I mean, yeah, there might be hundreds of versions of the same piece, but after some time you start to recognize names and stuff and use those as a guide and... Stuff.

Lol, the 24 caprices? That's the early stuff, most of his compositions go from 1800 to 1840 and the caprices were composed between 1802 and 1817.
