Solid metalcore album, but that's just the problem for me. It never explores other territory.

Yes this is Kurt's first go with Darkest Hour. they got lucky when they asked their new label for $50,000 to make this record and the label just went ahead and gave them $70,000.

I enjoyed Devin Townsend's production on Undoing Ruin but I think Ballou is just a master when it comes to producing.

Great review, sick ass album, agreed on all aspects. So glad I gave this a listen on a whim, because I'd only ever listened to one song from these guys.

Trebors review was an insult to the band. This review understands Darkest Hour in a more knowing way.
