Perhaps. Just seems to lack passion or conviction of any sort. Songs are good melodically but only pack a punch few and far between.
Guessing this will be a 3-3.5 because the last few songs are great and really elevate the whole piece.

I dig the record more than Burials. It's growing on me. I listened to a leak weeks ago and I was super bummed but I watched the live stream AFI did for it last night and they commented on the tracks and a lot of it fell into place for me.

Better than Burials and I quite liked Burials. Who cares if they aren't doing anything ground breaking, old AFI is best AFI. Can really feel it in So Beneath You, Dumb Kids, Pink Eyes. Best new AFI in a long time.

DU and Crash Love (this one has really grown on me over the years) are both great. Burials and this album (I guess some of Crash Love too) make me feel like the band is on cruise control.
