Digging this on first spin, feels almost like a really dark and fragile Lucinda Williams album. A couple kinda awkward moments but a lot of beautiful ones too.

Man there's some real unsettling stuff here. Love how "Stars" ends things on a slightly more hopeful note, a great epilogue to such a dark album.

I'm really not convinced that this is a substantially better record than Happiness, Cry Wolf through to Sexy Little Girl Princess are hard-hitting yes but 3 songs don't make an album, there's also two instrumentals on this and Happiness is way more consistent. The stand-out here is Cancer of Everything, way ahead of her time lyrically on that one.
