People rating 'what it means to like the album' rather than rating 'the album'

People genuinely asking 'on what ironic level do you enjoy this?' on the same site users are rating the Kero Kero Bonito album as anything other than a 1 will always sit funny with me but this things average will be what it is so I don't have to defend that this is one of the better albums of 2016

"At least you're admitting you're that easily swayed"

You say that, but im not one of the guys who gives every RTJ album a 5 on the day its released. And ive considered these guys to be the blandest thing ever for a long time, no one ever "swayed" me otherwise.

"nice edit clov lol"

Gave it more though, album was a genuine 2, hoped no one wouldve noticed.

I give Run The Jewels a little more credit then you do, I completely agree with the audience they appeal to. I don't know many hip-hop fans that really like these guys, they just think they're alright. They appeal to people who don't listen to a lot of hip-hop.

Only thing I'll say about the album is its probably two songs too long.

'Ticketron' and 'Hey Kids' is one of the best two song runs of 2016, easily better than anything on the Danny Brown or the Tribe Called Quest that are largely considered the best other mainstream hip hop albums of 2016.

and then those people will parade these two are the best thing to happen to hip hop. i'll never claim that i know a lot about hip hop, cuz i really don't, but the sheer ignorance that drives this group's praise blows my mind.

The best part is if you give Run The Jewels any sort of criticism or you just don't think they are worth the hype, their fans get so salty.

Although I don't think RTJ is the modern day Black Star, I also don't agree that their music is atrocious (as much as I like to poke fun at them). 1 & 2 are both like 3.4s and I'm half expecting this to be like a 3 when I finally get to it. Pretty much the best "super watered down ~REAL rap~" act that is out today is kind of how I see them.

I'm sure but that doesn't mean I do sooooo. What other rappers do the hip-hop fans you know also like to listen to?

Real Rap with a TM attached to the end. These guys are about as real as Macklemore now and days.

Their stuff ranges from being ok to genuinely bad, and this album is leaning towards genuinely bad.
