Bolzer is simply primal and savage, I think a lot of people miss this. It's not about on key vocals or particular composing, it is about the pure animalistic self.
Musically,I still have mixed feelings about this band, and for sure it has become just as trendy to idolize them as it has been to mock them, both which are childish antics in my view. But, without a doubt they are one of the more interesting and unique bands today, and deserve the recognition they are getting.
With that said, I know Mastodon has been a big influence, who I can't stand. That band was always over rated, but now its just terrible. So that definitely impacts my enjoyment of the music.

both bands use drums. and guitars, by extension. i heard bolzer has a vocalist too.
