The Floridian emo quintet started off as an average twinkly emo band, but quickly evolved and put out their aptly titled debut album Grow Up, Dude, whose bombastic guitar leads and yelly-singy vocal hooks firmly placed the band near the top of the emo revival totem pole.

this sentence uses the word "emo" 3x.

also: Grow Up, Dude, whose... (an album is not a who)

otherwise great

Yeah I thought this would be weird but I also couldn't think of how else to phrase it, "with its" I guess?

I haven't heard this album and have no interest in doing so but to add to the lesser known 90's emo groups, i'd recommend June of 44 for sure. I'd also recommend Polvo for blistering indie guitar work though I wouldn't really consider them emo. They're still fucking awesome though.

This review embodies everything I think about this album. I personally enjoyed Keep Doing What You're Doing because as a drummer, it was a fun record to play along to. This album though..boring guitars, boring drums, boring vocals. I just don't see what they're trying to accomplish.

guys! If you 1.5 this, you have no justification for giving any other seminal emo album anything else! this is a lot more interesting than all the "classic" emo bands! don't be stupid! :^)
