If you dig Relient K, you'd dig these guys.

Sowing, seriously mate, that was a fn awesome review. You should be very proud of yourself.

I'm way past hurrying to listen to albums when they are first released anymore, but a review like this almost makes me want to do it in this instance.

Imo 'Southern Air' is their best LP. And I've never got around to listening to 'Lift a Sail' as yet. Can't wait to give this a spin & am hoping that you are indeed correct and this is right up there with 'Ocean Avenue' & 'Southern Air' in terms of quality.

Nate Young was an awesome drummer - especially in Anberlin, but I'm having doubts whether his style can fit Yellowcard's. Is this way different than Lift A Sail?

" it feels like a diamond in the rough"

kinda a weird statement because it implies the songs around it are bad when you gave this a 5 and seem to pretty much love every song on here

great review otherwise sowbro

The lyrical topics are cool but it's really bombastic. Not as good as you might expect from the "epic farewell" theme

Keen to hear this but my yellowcard taste is weird. I adore lights and sounds but found southern air super weak....

ilu Davey

Yeah the diamond in the rough thing was meant more as a slower more beautiful track in the midst of uptempo songs but I can see why that sounds silly. I'll edit when I'm back at a computer.

third track in and I'm a little underwhelmed so far. been a fan since OFTK, so it's a bit sad to see them finally calling it quits and damn I can relate to the review Sowing. very well articulated and shaped ideas, have a massive pos on that one! let's hope this album kicks off a bit on the fourth and onwards..

Damn first 3 tracks are all among my favorites, sorry it's been a slight letdown. Maybe it'll grow.

well I did really enjoy the fourth track ^^. the first wasn't that bad either, quite enjoyed it just not as much as I'd initially hoped to. that's on you Sowing for raising the bar high as a mf with that 5 ;)

I was real nervous because I thought Lift a Sail was a trainwreck (especially since Southern Air was their best to date), but I think I'll have to blast this all day. Great writeup Sowing.
