Boney the lyrics are one of the best things about this so I'm hoping you end up bumping to a 5 ;]
ALA I just bumped Either/Or to a 5, realised there was no point pretending it isn't a classic. It's the Smith album with the absolute perfect atmosphere

I wouldn't call this psychedelic so much as druggy. It's a blurry distinction though idk.

Low Flyin Bird is the most psychedelic I'd say
|
| |
I mean sure it's not pure psychedelic but it has that smooth drugged atmosphere about it
Anyways D00F, I love you bud but giving Elliott's debut a 3.0 is harsh. It's easily a 3.5 at least.

Boney I think like Richmond Fontaine this is a discography you are going to love exploring at some point in the future.
This is actually one of his least country/Americana influenced albums so I could see you maybe even preferring A, Wit's End, Catacombs or most likely Big Wheel.
The top 12 songs on Big Wheel are as strong as this album, it's just the fact it's a double album with a few too many average songs that meant I docked it a .5
Prefection is interesting too as that's more pure indie, definitely worth checking. He's tried his hand at nearly every style and the out takes album even showed he can write grungy/punky rock tunes - would love to see him try a more rock orientated album

Doofus you seem to have very harsh ratings, as myself. I can respect that a lot.
Thinking I'm going to be doing a 3.0 review of The Fragile by the way D00f, if you want to look out for that whenever it comes out :D

Yeah Doof after this I can assure that this is another discog I'll make my way through, however slowly.

Also, quick plug, I feel obliged to acknowledge Blake Mills' contributions to this album. I can hear his touch in some of the guitar playing. You may not have heard of him but he's one of the most quietly busy men in the industry nowadays and an amazing guitar player and producer. His solo album Heigh Ho is amazing, chill stripped down folk/Americana stuff, I highly recommend it.

ALA a 3 out of 5 review for The Fragile is something I'm gonna want to read

I'm going to keep this at a good 4.0 right now. Love the album but one first listen i haven't been able to delve into the intricacies of Cass as an artist here. Really appreciate the music, but the stretch of Low Flyin' Bird to Run Sister Run didn't do much for me. The rest was really enjoyable. Will definitely relisten eventually though it's a bit hard because of the length.

Boney I'll look him up, any other albums I know which he has collaborated on?

Hey D00f what's your favorite song? Think mine's It so far

Not sure Doof, off the top of my head are last year's Alabama Shakes and this year's Andrew Bird, he also predicted new Dawes coming up, and he's toured with a lot of artists.
Basically he's the kind of guy where people in the industry know he's great so he does a lot of session work and touring but doesn't get much individual cred.

Yeah I really like It too, it has an almost Pink Floyd-esque vibe (if I'm remembering the right song lol)
|

Ya bone buddy! I was thinking it sounds like the atmosphere of Dark Side of the Moon with the acoustics of Animals!

Favourite is still Medusa's Outhouse, 'It' is my third or fourth pick but really I like about eight of these songs a lot and can barely pick between them

Zak it's probably only because I've been listening to this dude's other eight albums for the last six years that this hit me so hard, but this is a massive album for me.
Potential finally fully fulfilled at the ninth attempt.
