Definitely digging this. I was a big fan of Station and Enter back in the day when they came out but kinda lost interest in this band.
It's impressive what they can do as just a three piece band, I'm guessing they're able to replicate everything live for the most part from what I've seen in videos. I would like to think they strive for that in their recordings. They still sound relatively raw, and I'm glad they don't rely to much on overpolishing their sound in the studio. The songwriting twists and turns and incorporation of styles are exceptional.

mladek or w/e it's called is the only song i've ever been especially fond of by these guys

Also, I love Overboard. It helps the feel of the album as a whole, but as an individual song I still love it, so chilled out and elegant

not really anything that isn't already common knowledge haha

This album has a little too much compression in parts. The first track is way too loud which is pretty unnecessary. Takes away from the dynamics of the album as a whole. And the drums ar eover-compressed in my opinion in parts. A little too thwacky. I like this album but I wouldn't highlight production as its strength just because of the compression. Saying that I like that there's more bass this time round compared to Memorial.

The last two albums by this band have had solely fanboys review them, both are very good don't get me wrong, but 5's? Kind of a stretch. I guess I should go write one if I really have that big a problem with it but where are the staff/contribs on this one?
Also....post-metal as the "worst" metal genre? Get that garbage outta here. K peace.

Yeah Empros was reviewed really well, I have no qualms with that one.

Yeah it seems weird to me to give this a 5. I really like this band but I never expect them to be anything other than great at what they do. They don't make masterpieces.

This is surprisingly very awesome to me, especially considering I remember quite disliking previous efforts by this band.

Definitely not a 5 from me either, and RC are honestly my favourite band ever. There just isn't the variety in sound in this album. To me Empros and Memorial are there strongest works yet; this feels like they're phoning it in a bit. Not that that's a bad thing - they just haven't pulled out all the stops here.

Totally agree on Memorial and Empros being their best. Such good tracks on those. The only one here that really reaches epic status is "Calla" for me.
