Actually pretty interested to jam this; never really liked these guys as much as Whitechapel, but they're clearly a step above your average chug-a-lug deathcore dreck. Really like the album cover, too.
Edit: Holy balls this thing rips

Love how these guys have evolved over the past few years without going too far away from their core sound and how each album kind of picks up exactly from the last, continuing that transition. Bands like Whitechapel need to take note.

They're a brand more than a band these days tbh. I'm a big fan, but I wasn't too big on OEW and couldn't stand Mark of the Blade. Everything before is killer, imo.

but saying that whitechapel needs to take notes from carnifex is a bit silly, no?

I mean, maybe they could take notes to try to stop writing music that is less and less interesting every album.

rip whitechapel

Prob the best deathcore I've ever heard, if I could be completely honest family.

By going the black metal route, no, I don't want them doing that. What I meant was how they progressed from NEOC to their self-titled and then went off a completely different tangent after that. I love their self-titled, because the songwriting was more honed and tight; lyrics weren't too bad either tbh. I wish they would've stayed on that track, because they carved out a definitive sound for themselves with that record - for me, anyway.

Past that, though, they are doing well. Saw them at Warped Tour and they put on a killer show, although they only played five songs and all of them were from the last two albums.

I liked Mark of the Blade considerably more than OEW, but I'd still say that this is better than either of the two. Damn good stuff.

I reckon new era is easily whitechapels best. Dehumanisation and murder sermon are brilliant tracks
