God, I can't stand those vocals. Aside from that, this is a killer album.

they grow on you, slowly but surely you love them and have no reasonable basis as to why

Ive been listening to Adam since he was singing in odd how people shake, so it definitely helps to have prior experience

funny enough i didnt listen to fear before until after orbs, i was taken back by how different of a vocal approach he takes there compared to here

Yeah, I think people would dig him more if he sung on this like he did in fb. He's definitely not a bad vocalist though despite what a certain sound off might claim.

Feel like I enjoy Asleep Next to Science more but have only listened to this 3 times so far

"is it really metal tho"
not really, and that's why it's so great.

I hated the vocals at first. Now I don't and I think the album would be worse without them. Adam sounds like he's going insane, I swear.

I didn't even check the dates yet, I'm assuming they'll play a show near long island, all that's left is someone to go with...

Anyone else think the production on this is very similar to their last album(especially the bass tone and drums)?
Not a bad thing at all and I'm just kind of nitpicking, but it would have been nice to hear these songs with a little different production because musically they added some new aspects to their sound, but the production makes it harder to notice. I hear some of the same guitar tones too but overall they have a lot more variety which is nice at least.

Someone will have to tell me how awesome the shows are because I, sadly, won't make the show today.

There were like maybe 20 people at the Lancaster show, which was kinda weird. I wish more people showed up, but it was also kinda neat to be at such an intimate show for a band I love. Openers Dog Years and Ivadell were both great and I'm genuinely interested in hearing more from both of them.
Orbs was awesome - even if the sound guy bungled Adam's vocal levels. It was interesting hearing Dan (and the bassist whose name I sadly do not know) sing backup and it was really impressive how well they executed live.
I'm bad at remembering set lists, but they closed with "Man of Science" and played "El Burro," "Dreamland II," "These People Are Animals" (opener, I think), "Giving Tree Hanging Me," "Picked Apart By Time," and "Megalobastic Madness."
Cool thing about small venues/crowds is getting to say hey and talk a bit, and I got to to say hey to Dan and probably gushed at Adam for too long. Also got to talk to the guys from Ivadell and Dog Years and everybody was just real chill. It was awesome.
Biggest news I can share was that Adam said they're playing around with a few new demo Orbs tunes so more will be coming eventually! Hopefully it doesn't take another 6 years for them to tour again!

Goddammit I'm bummed on so many levels for missing the lanc show. I didn't hear the album until yesterday and it's soooooo much better than I anticipated. Adams KILLING IT lately

Adam has always been killing it.
That's show sounds fucking great atomic, with a great setlist too. I always love those smaller shows and getting to talk to the band afterward.
