I'm waiting for my vinyl copy to get here before I sit down and give this a proper listen.

"people like us remind me way too much of little mouth"
true. from "people like us" onwards it's mostly either a cheapfest (second half of frankie m is atrocious) or a nostalgia fest (people like us, glowing man, when will i return). I was so excited after hearing the first 3 tracks but the rest was a big disappointment.
flugmorph gonna lose his shit in a minute i see, can't criticise this album

To Be Kind is the band's best work as a whole. It will be interesting to hear how this sounds as a cohesive piece.

Really liked this. The title track was not my cup of tea though.

The wax arrived this afternoon. Giving it a spin right now. The first track is as strong as anything on To Be Kind.

I'm halfway through my first listen. The opener is awesome, and "The World Looks Red / The World Looks Black" is a contender for track of the year. I think you should spin it. A bit more organic than The Seer and To Be Kind.

cool as long as theres nothing like Lunacy on here I'm sure i'll like it

Cloud of Forgetting, The World..., and When Will I Return are my standouts right now...Ive had two runs through so far, but with shitty headphones. Gonna jam on my system tonight.

Oxygen wasn't really dark...but I think this is the best Swans record of the whole new-formed bunch. First listen actually really amazed and surprised me, which is pretty funny when we're talking about a band like Swans.
I recommend this album. It's more musical than 'noisy' like The Seer and To Be Kind were, and way more atmospheric and introspective!

nice record, but good lord it could've been a lot shorter and a lot better

My problem with records of this size, is I don't listen to them all that often; I generally like to listen to LPs in their entirety, and so I could count how many times I've listened to The Seer and To Be Kind on both hands. But when I do get a spare 2 hours, and I get em on, they still blow my socks off.
I definitely think The Glowing Man is the most accessible offering. It's hard to say it could have been shorter, etc, etc because it's easy to get caught up in the run time of these things -- hell, I sometimes think the same, the size of these projects is overwhelming, but in the end, I always feel that the time is justified. The build-ups are always masterful.
