I feel like they tried to go for really heavy subject matter and completely neglected that their musical sound was shallow af.

It's funny how this record wasn't heavy enough to present a noteworthy shift in the band's sound and not melodic enough to be particularly memorable

These turkeys take themselves far too seriously, what with an album title like 'All our Gods have abandoned us' and songs called 'Nihilist' and shit... you'd expect to hear depressive black metal or something to that nature, but instead your greeted by some uninspired djent with half assed ambiance thrown in the mix to earn them the precious prog metal tag. Nightmares -> Hollow Crown was a good run but everything after that seems to be them trying too hard to be some profound and transgressive metalcore act, while theyre output out some of the safest and most vapid music even by the genres standards. In my opinion. Sorry i really had to get that spiel off my chest.

I found this really underwhelming if I'm honest. It's certainly darker in tone than the band's last few albums, but I feel like every song ends up being anti-climactic and not really "exploding" in the way it should. There are some great songs here, notably "Nihilist" and "Memento Mori", but the rest of the album just falls flat to me.

One of the best bands I've ever seen live, but it doesn't transfer over to their recordings imo. Usually I'm initially enthralled by their work (first impressions ~ the value tends to diminish upon the third) but this time I'm just bored. Hopefully Silent Planet can carry the torch as the next innovative metalcore band.

Quite literally, take 2005, down-tune it, and this is the product. Boring, bland, forgettable, and something that everyone has heard already.

"Architects, selling out?

Hmm... "

I can't tell if you're joking. Obviously To The Death is a lot better than them doing a radio friendly ballad.

No shit? My whole point was Architects are more than capable of selling out. THAN is the very definition of a band 'selling out'.
