Dunno why this didn't vibe with me at all when I first heard it. I've always preferred HOLV (favorite) and Blue Bell Knoll. Maybe this is due for a revisit.

Also, strangely, still haven't heard 'Treasure' which I understand is regularly a contender for CT's crowning achievement.

This has more in common with Treasure that those two, so might make more sense going on after that (as if you needed another reason ;])

So very calm and beautiful. A bit of an outlier in their discog too.

Underrated, probably my third favorite Cocteau Twins; Heaven or Las Vegas and Treasure being the two best.

You must love The Moon and the Melodies, I think of that and this as pretty similar. Both are their most ambient sounding, and underrated.

This is very very pretty and perfect background music but this and Moon and the Melodies are my least favorite Cocteau Twins I’ve heard so far for the same reason I’m not a huge fan of ambient in general - the songs just aren’t there and aren’t individually super memorable.

Ambient music? This is pop.

It’s like ethereal wave meets dream/ambient pop.

don't know how someone could dislike something as soothing as this......

Oh I wasn't trying to say this is ambient (though much of The Moon and the Melodies is), obv it's ethereal wave/dream pop, but the way these songs flow is much like ambient, or at least much more so than other CT stuff.

Yeah agreed hard, less drums, less busy sound overall, etc.

The atmosphere on this is lovely. Maybe it isn't quite as memorable as Treasure, though.

Little Spacy is definitely the favourite for me.

Yeah true. It's very soothing but they've done better. Still a lovely record like you said.
