Amazing review as usual Doof, your feelings on this are pretty spot on with mine, though due to having been very busy the last 24 hours I've only been able to spin the album once and thus haven't been able to process it yet. Needless to say, this is going to be in the rotation for a long, long time.

My initial impression is favorable, but I think I'm gonna need a bunch of listens to let this settle

"Ful Stop" is just awesome.

I know I'm kind of behind on the discussion so maybe this has been brought up already, but anyone else catching some slight psychedelic elements on this album?

Burn The Witch is classic Radiohead, everything about it just screams out timeless Radiohead from the video to Thom's vocals to the strings to Johnny's soundscapes.

Yeah "Burn the Witch" is amazing and has grown on me massively, it is definitely better on the album.

I almost wish they hadn't used it as a lead single though - it would have been amazing to hear that first and then have my expectations about the rest of the album totally destroyed. Maybe if they hadn't also released "Daydreaming" beforehand the effect would have been the same, but that song had me expecting a vibe more like what we got.

@Tunaboy, yeah there definitely isn't much, hence my saying "slight"

good, but not great. clunky flow, and really nothing new for radiohead.
but daydreaming is still gorgeous. and ful stop and identikit are sweet af. decks dark is also rockin. the numbers is sweet but maybe a little overly familiar

on the other end, desert island disk is boring af. not really fond of present tense either, and idk about true love waits yet. feels a little tame and it's not really the powerhouse closer like motion picture soundtrack or videotape they wanted it to be. right now i prefer the guitar version but that just might be because i've known it for so long

Ryus, after one listen I feel sort of the same about "True Love Waits" but I have a feeling that it'll grow on me.

The mark of Radiohead is that their albums only get better with time and I doubt this will be any different.

Liking Desert Island Disk more with repeated listens - still the weakest on the album, but it's alright

yeah, my opinion will probably shift after a while. for some reason this album isn't really affecting me all that much though

It's weird how there is a general feeling of 'this is undoubtedly a grower'

I love it already if I can love it more months down the line that's the sign of a truly magnificent album.
